Live online class / Sunday 9 August, 10:00am AEST / 90 minutes / Recording & guide included
Ninety minutes of nervous system literacy — for practitioners with their hands on other people's bodies, and for anyone tired of managing symptoms one specialist at a time. The science, taught honestly. The practice, felt in your own body.
Where vagal signalling turns up
How that tends to show up in a life
One nerve. Roughly 100,000 fibres a side. Wired into movement, mood, learning, immunity, digestion and the resident immune cells of your brain. Which is why these stop behaving like separate problems once you can see them properly — they're read-outs of one upstream state, a body that hasn't yet received a credible signal of safety. And signals can be changed.
Involvement isn't the same thing as cure, and I'll be precise about that difference the whole way through.
Thirteen sections, fully referenced, and tiered by how strong the evidence actually is — so you always know what you're standing on.
What makes it unusual is what it connects. Mood and gut. Sleep and skin. Breath and hormones. Posture and mood. Light and weight. Threads that are almost never drawn together in one place, because they sit in different specialties and nobody's job is to join them up.
It holds up whatever your profession — skin, bodywork, movement, nutrition, coaching, counselling — and it's just as useful if you're reading it for your own body. Honestly, the guide alone is worth more than the seat.
I want this in as many hands as possible, so it's priced to be easy to say yes to. Your place includes the live class, the lifetime recording, the 26-page illustrated guide sent the moment you register, and a Certificate of Attendance. Registration closes Saturday 8 August, 5:00pm AEST.

Why this class exists
Chronic stress. Overwhelm. Burnout. Anxiety. Low mood. Attention that won't settle. Sleep that won't come. Weight that won't shift. Skin that won't calm down. All rising — and now rising from childhood.
And when we meet it, we tend to do one of two things. We medicalise it — a diagnosis, a prescription, a different specialist for each symptom. Or we minimise it — you're just stressed, everyone's tired, push through.
Both of those leave out the same thing. And there's a third option, which isn't a treatment at all. It's literacy. Your body isn't malfunctioning. It's doing something deeply intelligent in response to a signal it keeps receiving. Once you can read that signal, you can start to change it.
Anxiety, IBS, insomnia, burnout, reactive skin, scattered attention, stubborn weight — these look like separate diagnoses because separate specialists manage them. Physiologically they are one upstream state showing up in different tissues — a body that hasn't received a credible signal of safety.
Think about what your body has to fund. Repair. Digestion. Detoxification. Immune regulation. Making hormones. Every one of those is metabolically expensive, and every one of them runs properly only when your system isn't spending its budget on threat. That's not a metaphor or a nice idea — it's resource allocation, and it's measurable. Which is exactly why it's such hopeful territory: shift what the body is spending on, and the budget for repair comes back.
Almost none of us were taught this. Not at school, not in most clinical training, not anywhere. And I've come to believe that gap sits underneath an enormous amount of what people are quietly struggling with. But it is only a gap in education — not a fixed feature of your biology. It closes faster than most people expect. That's why this class exists.
The 90 minutes
This is a taught sequence, not a grab-bag of tips. Each part builds on the one before it, and by the end you'll see how they were never separate.
Why your mental health, your gut and your hormones aren't three subjects. They're three read-outs of a single question your body is answering, continuously, underneath everything else: am I safe?
The vagus nerve as it's actually understood now — two distinct branches, roughly 100,000 fibres a side, and single-cell sequencing revealing specific neuron types with specific jobs. Here's the part that reorients people: around 80% of the traffic runs upward. Your body reporting to your brain, not the other way round. This field is moving monthly and it's genuinely thrilling.
So much of what you experience as mood is being manufactured below your neck. Neurotransmitters made in the gut. Signals travelling up from your organs. And the part almost nobody mentions — the way you're holding yourself right now. Posture and fascia belong in this conversation, not in a separate one. We'll keep it clear, and you'll recognise yourself in it.
The self-reinforcing circuit between a dysregulated gut and a dysregulated nervous system, the reflex that switches it off, and what all of this is doing at the skin barrier. Expanded for the skin professionals in the room.
Your hormones aren't running the show on their own. They answer to what sits upstream of them: your light and dark cycle, your sleep, how you hold and move your body, and whether your system currently believes it's safe. We'll follow those threads — including the specific mechanism behind waking at 3am, and why it happens to you and not the person beside you.
Guided practices and effective strategies to support change, woven throughout the class. Always invitational — eyes open or closed, opt out of anything at any time, nothing required of you.
If you work with your hands on other people
Whatever you deliver — skin treatments, bodywork, movement, nutrition, coaching, therapy — you're delivering it into a body that is either open to it or closed to it. Nervous system state is the gate on every other intervention's return.
The client who "isn't complying". Who "isn't responding to treatment". Whose results plateau for no visible reason. Very often that is a nervous system in defence, not a motivation and compliance problem.
Which is genuinely good news, because a defended nervous system is something you can work with. A belief that it is a "difficult client" is not.
And here's the part that tends to land hardest, because it's closer to home. What you believe your own work is worth — what you charge, what you claim, whether you back yourself in a room — that's a nervous system decision too. Yours. Undercharging, over-giving, shrinking, the inability to say no: these are all learned mind-body pathways. And learned pathways can be rewired — for thriving, rather than just basic surviving.
Your own state is also part of the treatment. Two practitioners can deliver identical technique and get different outcomes, because one is broadcasting safety and the other is broadcasting hurry. Co-regulation isn't a soft idea — it's measurable physiology, it's already happening in your room, and it's a skill. Which means you can get deliberately, noticeably better at it.
Skin and nervous tissue arise from the same embryonic layer. They never stop talking. And most skin education still treats the skin as a surface to be corrected, rather than an organ in constant conversation with the whole body.
Which brings you to the thing worth sitting with: a facial is a neurological event. Once you can see that, you can design a treatment that works with your client's physiology instead of against it — and explain to them, credibly, why their skin does what it does.
Just as relevant if you're a bodyworker, massage therapist, nurse, naturopath, yoga or Pilates teacher, coach, counsellor, dental professional, personal trainer — or anyone whose work depends on another person's body being at ease in your presence.
If you're here for your own body
You don't need a clinical background to follow any of this. Everything is taught at the felt, personal level first — the version you'll recognise from your own week — with the deeper detail clearly signposted so you can take it or leave it.
What you'll walk away with: an understanding of what your particular symptoms are actually reporting, your own alarm signature mapped, and a handful of levers that are free, immediate, and available to you without needing anyone's permission.
Said plainly
This is not a replacement for medical care, and I won't pretend otherwise. If you're unwell, keep your doctor. This is the layer underneath the medicine — rarely taught, and quietly setting the ceiling on how well everything else you're already doing can work. Raise that layer and the rest of it works harder for you.
What your $47 includes
I want this material in as many hands as possible. That's the whole pricing strategy.

North America, please note: the class falls on Saturday evening your time, not Sunday. And wherever you are — if the time doesn't work, register anyway. The recording is yours for life.
Who's teaching
I'm Pia Kynoch. I teach systems biology to practitioners, and to people who simply want to understand their own bodies. My work sits at the intersection of rigorous science and lived, embodied practice — because either one alone is only half the picture.
This class draws on many years of formal study across trauma physiology, applied neuroscience and somatic practice:
Alongside continuing study across microbiome science, circadian biology, fascia and quantum biology — the threads that keep turning out to be the same thread.
One last thing
Nobody is paying for this class to exist, so nothing is being sold inside it. No device, no supplement, no ingredient range waiting in the final ten minutes.
What that buys you is the freedom to teach this honestly — including the parts that are genuinely uncertain, and the popular claims that don't survive a close look. You'll get both.
How the evidence is handled
Everything is labelled by how well it's actually supported, so you always know what you're standing on:
You'll also hear me correct a few claims that circulate widely — in wellness circles, and in professional training — that are mechanistically wrong or already out of date. If you've been teaching any of them, you'll want to know.
Before you book
Yes. Every registrant gets lifetime access to the recording plus the 26-page guide, and the guided practices work just as well from the replay. Plenty of people will register purely for the recording.
Not at all. Every mechanism is taught at the recognisable, personal level first. The deeper detail is clearly signposted, so you can go as deep as you want and skim the rest without losing the thread.
Unlikely. The class assumes the guide as background, which frees us to spend the time on the long causal chains — the specific pathways, the numbers, the receptor-level detail, and the measurement limitations most training skips entirely.
No. You'll receive a Certificate of Attendance from Wholeness Medicine stating the date, topic and duration. Many associations permit members to self-submit non-accredited learning toward their requirements — check your own association's rules.
Recommended, not required — the class opens with a fast recap so nobody's lost. But the guide is what lets us skip the fundamentals and go deep, so you'll get noticeably more from your ninety minutes if you've read it.
The practices are trauma-aware by design: invitational language throughout, eyes open or closed as you prefer, and explicit permission to opt out of anything at any time without explaining yourself. Nothing is required of you. That said, this is an educational class, not therapy, and it isn't a substitute for individual trauma treatment.
No upsell, no products, just wisdom shared for your thriving.
This class is education, not medical advice. Nothing taught is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, or to replace care from your treating practitioners. If you are unwell, pregnant, or managing a diagnosed condition, please continue to work with your doctor. Certificate of Attendance is issued by Wholeness Medicine and is not a CPD-accredited or nationally recognised qualification.
